By Tierney Siler, PHR, SHRM-CP, Human Resources Manager - Last weekend, Blach hosted its annual PE Boot Camp event. We brought all of our new Project Engineers (PEs) and Project Engineer Interns into our office for a day and a half of learning and fun activities in preparation for their summer with Blach.
PE Boot Camp is an amazing way for all of our interns and PEs, both new and returning from previous years, to get to know each other and the company. Between breakout sessions, which focused on teaching technical skills like plan reading and project documentation, we held scavenger hunts, played jeopardy and competed in a highly competitive putting contest.
A team of six Blach employees, many of whom had recently been new Project Engineers themselves, organized and led PE Boot Camp. We were also joined by guest speakers such as Executive Vice President and COO Dan Rogers and General Superintendent Chad Tyson. It was another fun and highly successful weekend in preparing our new employees for their summer projects. We can’t wait for these all-star interns and Project Engineers to join the Blach team!
