Dan blends more than two decades of construction industry expertise with proven management skills. As president, he oversees and is active in all aspects of the firm, including the financial management and performance of all construction projects, client management and relations, staff training and development, hiring and recruiting programs, strategic planning and business development, IT planning and operations, and the overall financial health and advancement of the organization.
Having joined Blach in 2001 as a program manager, Dan quickly progressed into a senior management role, being appointed as one of the firm’s two project executives, overseeing a team of project managers, engineers and assistants. In 2004, Dan continued his rapid ascent with a promotion to vice president, operations and four years later, became executive vice president & COO. During Dan’s tenure as EVP & COO, Blach witnessed remarkable growth and earned many industry awards for outstanding projects. Dan has also been instrumental in developing many unique and innovative solutions, including, Folia, a state-of-the-art, pre-engineered school building solution.
Dan began his professional career with Summerhill Homes and later built projects for Stanford University Capital Planning & Management program, while managing the University’s $500 million building program. While at Stanford, Dan oversaw the construction of more than $200 million of educational, athletics, housing, and infrastructure improvements.
Dan is active in a number of industry and community organizations including the Associated General Contractors (AGC). Locally, Dan serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Silicon Valley and the Air Systems Foundation.
