
Juan Barroso
A member of the Blach team since 1998, Juan was promoted to Vice President of Preconstruction Services in 2009. Juan works closely with marketing and operations to build and maintain client relationships and help strategically grow the business. He directly manages the company’s business development efforts.
Juan’s industry expertise, understanding of the design process and his ability as a group leader have earned him numerous distinctions. Juan began his career as a process engineer for the City and County of San Francisco. During his time at the City, he was part of a design team that worked on large wastewater treatment plant projects. His assignments spanned from conceptual design and construction support, through plant start-up and commissioning. It was his exposure to construction projects during this time that prompted his transition to the construction industry.
During his time at Blach, Juan has been exposed to field engineering, project management and estimating. Utilizing his comprehensive education in Civil Engineering with additional courses in business and city planning, he has excelled on many challenging assignments. With his versatility, attention to detail and focus on customer service, he has built collaborative relationships with many clients and architects in a variety of market sectors.
Juan is heavily involved in the community and local professional organizations. He serves on the Board of the Associated General Contractors of America Education Foundation. He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, receiving a Healthcare Construction Certificate. Additionally, Juan is a member of the California Association of School Business Officials, the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators, and the Community College Facility Coalition. He is also active in a number of local charities and industry groups.
