Laura oversees the accounting group and is responsible for Blach's accounting, finance and risk management functions. Her accomplishments include enhancing the internal budgeting process and controls and significantly upgrading Blach's financial forecasting.
Laura also has worked closely with the firm’s IT director to create an award-winning online time card, payroll and job cost-reporting program.
Laura began her career in accounting and finance with a Palo Alto-based oil and gas investment firm, then joined Blach Construction in 1996 as a staff accountant. In 2000 Laura was promoted to accounting manager and her responsibilities were further expanded in 2002 when she was promoted to controller.
Laura earned a B.S.C. degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University, is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and is a recipient of the YWCA of Santa Clara Valley 2005 Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award. In her spare time, Laura is a committed volunteer for Sacred Heart Community Service, coordinating annual drives for back-to-school backpacks and Holiday toys from Blach employees.
