San Jose, Calif. (April 8, 2016) The Silicon Valley Business Journal recently named Mike Blach, president and CEO of Blach Construction, one of its first ‘Power Executives.’ The Business Journal cited Blach’s successful leadership of the company, as well as his commitment to many community non-profits, as reasons for his inclusion on its inaugural list of Silicon Valley’s most influential business leaders.
Blach, 53, is in excellent company. The list included Silicon Valley titans such as Tim Cook of Apple, Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook, Sergey Brin and Larry Page of Google and Elon Musk of Tesla. Results of the poll were announced in the publication’s print edition on March 25 and illustrate many of the influential and inspirational leaders living and working in Silicon Valley.
“We nominated Mike because he has the extraordinary gift of being both a visionary leader, as well as possessing outstanding execution skills,” said Gaye Landau-Leonard, vice president of human resources at Blach Construction. “Mike's dedication to our employees and clients is obvious to all, and he also has a deep commitment to the community.”
Blach has led the San Jose-based general contracting firm Blach Construction for nearly three decades. Under his leadership, the company has thrived, builds several landmark projects every year and continues to be recognized with top state and national awards in safety, innovation, project execution and corporate philanthropy. Moreover, the Business Journal also has just named Blach Construction as one of the Best Places to Work for the eighth year in a row.
“I’ve had the good fortune of studying with Mike at Bellarmine College Prep and, in my professional career, working for him as an employee of Blach Construction,” said Pat Quinn, director of client services. “He remains a pillar of integrity and is deeply committed to the local community.”
