Blach Construction recently completed general contracting services for the SPCA for Monterey County’s campus modernization and new construction program.
The scope of work included a complete renovation of existing facilities and the construction of 11 new buildings. Additionally, the project utilized integrated project delivery methods and incorporated sustainable materials such as certified lumber, recycled paving and demo materials and bio-swales.
All buildings received Energy Recovery HVAC Systems and feature low-flow plumbing fixtures, lighting controls, innovative waste-water disposal systems and the project included new/upgraded infrastructure throughout.
The project also includes a new Wildlife Center, to teach children and the community about local flora and fauna, an expansion of the existing veterinary clinic, shelter, offices and tenant improvements for a benefit shop. Site work comprises an equine facility, a new water system, upgraded utilities and new paving.
