New Alternative High School
Blach recently completed the construction of a new alternative high school for the Sequoia Union High School District.
Delivered on an eight-month schedule, this project included the construction of three new modular buildings, a courtyard, parking lots and associated site work under the Lease-leaseback delivery approach.
The project was funded using Measure J bond funds. Like many public school districts, the Sequoia Union High School District placed a strong emphasis on creating a cost-effective campus that met its rapidly growing student population.
The project team worked closely with the District and Architect to manage working sessions with key members, evaluate concerns and discuss the best approach/solution to individual issues.
Owner-requested changes, such as changing the building’s skin from metal to stucco, added to the already tight schedule. Despite the design changes, the project was delivered to the owner on its originally scheduled completion date.
