San Jose, California – April 20, 2017 – Blach Construction Company is pleased to announce it was named in the top 10 of the 2017 “Best Places to Work” in the Bay Area, placing 9th in the mid-sized employer category. “Best Places to Work” is an annual award presented jointly by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Board Awards Blach Cañada College Kinesiology and Wellness Center

(9/20/2016)  San Mateo, Calif. – The Board of Trustees of San Mateo Community College District awarded Blach Construction Company a $60 million design-build contract to design and build a new, 86,000-square-foot kinesiology and wellness center, as well as an aquatic complex, last week.

Blach partnered with Berkeley-based ELS Architecture and Urban Planning as its architect. The District’s Measure H bond, which local voters approved in November 2014, is providing the funding for the project.

Folia, A New Classroom Solution, Offers Shorter Schedule Through DSA Pre-Check Approval

San Jose, Calif. (July 8, 2016) – The California Division of State Architect (DSA) has granted pre-check (“PC”) approval to the Folia education building. This pre-check approval allows schools and community colleges to choose a building with dramatically reduced design, permitting and construction time so that attractive, sustainable and modern facilities can be opened in less than a year, at least 16 months faster than traditionally designed and built facilities.
