PROJECT OVERVIEW

World's Most Advanced Recycling Plant

Blach completed the renovation of an 80,000 s.f. recycling facility at Newby Island in Milpitas for Republic Services, one of the country's largest waste services providers, in the summer of 2012. 

The building houses the world’s most sophisticated Material Recovery Facility (MRF), with the intent of recycling at least 80% of waste material collected from San Jose businesses.  The recycling plant can process up to 420,000 tons of waste annually. 

San Jose City College

Multidisciplinary Building & Fine Arts Center

The new building, expected to achieve LEED Silver certification, is located on the San Jose City College campus and includes several multi-disciplinary classrooms for fine arts and photography, laboratories for the visual and performing arts programs, staff offices, student services, various site work and landscaping. 

Blach Construction and AEDIS Architecture & Planning completed the 48,000 s.f. multidisciplinary classroom building for the San Jose/Evergreen Community College District this August.

Palo Alto Medical Foundation

PROJECT OVERVIEW

New Innovation Center

Blach renovated the PAMF’s Innovation Center in 2011 on an aggressive, eight-week schedule. The project included a flexible space to serve as a “think-tank” for PAMF’s innovation team with open-office workspaces, offices, a boardroom, kitchen area and common areas.

The Palo Alto Medical Foundation for Health Care, Research and Education is a not-for-profit health care organization that is a pioneer in the multispecialty group practice of medicine. 

Millbrae School District

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Program & Lease-Leaseback Services for Two $30M Bond Programs

In 2009, Blach was selected by the Millbrae School District to provide program management and Lease-leaseback services for its renovation and modernization program.  Valued at $30M, this program was funded by the Measure X bond, passed by voters in 2008.
