Mabel Mattos Elementary School

A four-year, multi-phased project, Mabel Mattos Elementary School marks the first new school in MUSD in almost five decades. Blach served as Construction Manager during Phase 1, overseeing construction of two prefabricated, two-story structures and sitework that included multiple playgrounds, parking lot renovations and the installation of four traffic signals to alleviate street congestion. Once that was complete, Blach built three two-story classroom buildings with interconnected walkways, a Multi-Purpose room and shade structure. With all phases completed prior to school opening for the 2022-23 academic year, Mattos Elementary is now able to accommodate up to 700 students.
