Homestead High School Building A & B Seismic Upgrade & Modernization

The Homestead High School Building Seismic Upgrade and Classroom Modernization Project involved comprehensive seismic rehabilitation of Buildings A and B. This project includes modernization of all building systems, reconfiguration of interior walls, and replacement of all interior finishes. Site improvements encompassed necessary accessibility upgrades, such as creating accessible pathways to all buildings, drainage enhancements, and landscape updates. Exterior enhancements featured the addition of windows to increase natural light and the innovative use of a fiber mesh wrap applied as a liquid that hardened to reinforce the second-story floor and roof concrete. This unique treatment added significant structural strength to better protect the building during seismic events. The project also introduced a new central quad area, connecting multiple buildings and offering a space for students to gather and enjoy lunch.
