"His ‘can-do’ attitude, coupled with his dedication to service and exceptional work ethic, make him a model leader at Blach."

San Jose, California – February 28, 2017 – Blach Construction Company is pleased to announce that Chad Tyson has been promoted to Vice President, Construction. In his newly elevated role, Chad will continue to oversee all construction operations in the greater Bay Area – a position he assumed four years ago, when he stepped in as General Superintendent.

“Chad has been a key contributor for many years and is highly regarded by all – employees, subcontractors, partners and clients,” said Dan Rogers, EVP and COO, Blach Construction Company. “He continually looks for ways to be innovative and deliver a win-win outcome, no matter how challenging or demanding the project. His ‘can-do’ attitude, coupled with his dedication to service and exceptional work ethic, make him a model leader at Blach.”

Among his most notable contributions is the instrumental role Chad has played in positioning Blach as a statewide leader in safety and innovation. Under his guidance, Blach has become a multiple-award winner of the AGC of America Construction Safety Excellence Awards and named a Cal-OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Contractor. He is a certified Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) and actively maintains our strong union relationship by serving as Chairman of the Santa Clara/San Benito Carpenter’s Training Committee for Northern California 5.

A Blach veteran for more than 20 years, Chad joined the Company in 1995 as a carpenter’s apprentice. He quickly advanced to Superintendent, providing valuable insight on many highly visible projects, including Cuesta College, Santa Clara University and the Packard Foundation, to name a few. He became General Superintendent in 2013 and now, as Vice President, Construction, he is responsible for all-field staffing and field operations, prefabrication, warehouse, fleet and equipment management, in addition to advancing the Company’s award-winning safety program.

Chad is a member of the Carpenter’s Local Union No. 713 and lives in Livermore, California with his wife, Pamela, and two children.
