Blach Named #6 Best Place to Work in the Bay Area

Santa Clara, Calif. – (April 23, 2014) – The Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and the San Francisco Business Times recently announced that Santa Clara-based Blach Construction Company is the #6 company on their list of the “Best Places to Work in the Bay Area.”

This is the sixth consecutive year that Blach has been ranked as one of the top ten companies. Additionally, Blach was also the highest rated building contractor or construction manager in any size category. Beginning in 2008, the company has been ranked #6 or higher in its size category. In 2010, Blach was named the #1 best place to work in the Bay Area.

James MacGregor and Mary Huss, the publishers of the respective newspapers, announced this recognition at an awards gala attended by more than 800 Bay Area business leaders last Thursday evening at the San Francisco Hilton Hotel. More than 450 companies competed for the opportunity to be recognized as one of the top 125 companies in the annual Bay Area’s Best Places to Work survey. Blach was ranked number six in the “mid-size” company category, among the top 50 firms who employ 101 to 500 employees.

In order to qualify for the top 125, more than 70% of a firm’s employees must successfully complete an anonymous questionnaire, which focuses on employee engagement, best practices, work environment and benefits.

“We pay close attention to this process each year, as the results are determined purely by feedback from our outstanding employees,” said Gaye Landau-Leonard, Vice President of Human Resources. “It is exciting to be ranked so high for the sixth straight year and only serves to reaffirm our commitment to our employees, which is one of our core values at Blach Construction.”
