San Jose, California – December 20, 2016 – Blach Construction Company today announced that Kate Blocker has joined its team as director of marketing. The company also is pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin McIntosh to senior project manager in its Monterey office.

Kate will oversee all corporate marketing, communications and branding initiatives, focusing specifically on corporate identity, digital marketing and public relations, as well as corporate and philanthropic sponsorships and events. Additionally, she will be integrally involved with sales enablement, supporting the Business Development and project teams in their customer support and service endeavors. “We are thrilled to add Kate to our management team,” said Mike Blach, president and CEO of Blach Construction. “Kate understands our vision to be a highly differentiated, high-value-add business partner with our customers, and she will help us greatly in articulating our unique value proposition. It is clear Kate’s experience, gained from working for some of the Valley’s most notable companies, will lend itself well to raising the bar on our overall branding and marketing efforts.”

A life-long resident of the Bay Area, Kate comes to Blach with more than 25 years of consumer marketing experience, primarily in the technology sector. Most recently, she was director of marketing at automotive technology start-up Pearl Automation where she was personally responsible for content creation, product messaging and brand voice. Before Pearl, she oversaw all marketing communications and brand evangelization efforts for G-Technology, Western Digital’s branded external storage group. Prior to G-Technology, she spent 15 years as a successful strategic marketing consultant, focusing on marketing communications, email marketing and retail channel marketing. Notable long-term clients included Logitech, Palm Computing, Skype, Sling Media and NETGEAR, to name a few. Kate holds a B.A. from Santa Clara University and has passionately supported St. Catherine Parish and School in Morgan Hill, Morgan Hill Pony Baseball and the Princess Project of Silicon Valley.

While Kate is new to Blach Construction, Kevin McIntosh is not. Having initially joined the builder in 2008 as a superintendent, Kevin quickly assumed a hybrid role, also acting as project manager on many of his projects. In 2012, he was promoted to project manager, skillfully leveraging his field knowledge to continue adding value from a superintendent’s perspective.

Kevin’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. “Feedback from customers, colleagues, and subcontractors is always outstanding,” said Dan Rogers, Blach Construction Executive Vice President and COO. “He has won over many clients with his excellent customer service skills, incomparable field experience and business partner mentality. His diligence and dedication have resulted in establishing an even stronger base and reputation for Blach Construction in the Monterey region. We are honored to have him on our team and look forward to his future contributions.”

A licensed general contractor and Monterey County native, Kevin has more than 20 years of experience in commercial, industrial and residential building. He is very active in his community, currently serving as Secretary / Treasurer of the Central Coast Builders Association, volunteering with the California Rodeo Association and previously, providing leadership as a board member for the Monterey County Historical Society.
