Monterey/San Jose, Calif., June 12, 2019 – Blach Construction (Blach), a full-service and award-winning commercial builder serving the Greater Bay Area and Monterey since 1970, announces that Kevin McIntosh has been promoted from senior project manager to project executive. McIntosh will oversee all of Blach’s Monterey Coast-based projects, working closely with the firm’s business development team.

Blach’s – and McIntosh’s – portfolio of work in the region includes many important and iconic facilities. Among them is the recently completed, long-awaited Bechtel Family Center for Ocean Education and Leadership on Cannery Row for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He was also instrumental in the massive renovation of the SPCA for Monterey County, on several projects at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and the historic preservation of the Carmel Mission Basilica, to name a few.
A Monterey County native, McIntosh has more than 20 years of building industry experience. Since joining Blach in 2008, he has excelled in his roles, advancing from superintendent, where he supervised day-to-day construction activities to project manager, overseeing broader project teams and interfacing with clients and partners. He is well-versed in all phases of construction, from coordinating with design teams to guiding projects through preconstruction, subcontractor management and schedule & budget control. In his new role, McIntosh will continue to develop Blach’s clientele and manage multiple and diverse projects, putting his client relationship, negotiating and technical problem-solving skills to great use.
McIntosh is very active in both the building industry and surrounding community. He currently serves as President of the Central Coast Builders Association and previously was on the board of the Monterey County Historical Society and a long-time volunteer for the California Rodeo Salinas and Franciscan Workers of Junipero Serra. McIntosh holds a degree in
Construction Management and is a member of Carpenters Local No. 605.
